I love dill pickles/gherkins and I now make them myself.
Ingredients:
6 baby cucumbers, sliced at an angle
1 cup white grape vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 bay leaf, torn
a few sprigs fresh dill
Method:
You need a glass jar with a lid. Boil a kettle and sterilize the glass jar by pouring the boiling water into it, stand for a while and pour out, do the same for the lid.
Add in all your ingredients.
Close the lid and refrigerate.
After a few days your pickles will start to change colour and take on the flavours of the brine.
