Cafe Style Steak Roll

This recipe is one of my husband's favourite meals. It is a new take on the Prego Steak Roll. Enjoy!

Cafe Style Steak Roll

Ingredients:
1 loaf sour-dough or ciabatta
2 rib-eye beef steaks
2 cloves garlic, sliced
olive oil for frying
1/2 cup green and red pepper slithers
1/2 onion sliced into slithers
salt and freshly ground black pepper
paprika
1 avocado, sliced
sliced mature cheddar cheese
mixed baby lettuce/spinach leaves
sliced red onion

Method:
Heat olive oil in a griddle pan/frying pan. Add salt, pepper and garlic and when the pan is very hot, add the steaks.
Sear on one side until well-browned and turn only once to sear the other side. Cook to taste. Set aside.
Warm the sour-dough bread in the oven and slice as thickly as you wish.
Slice steaks into generous slithers.
Lavish the steak with peppers, onions, grated mature cheddar, slices of avocado and red onion and lettuce leaves.
Serve with crispy home-made chips an a pub-style beer :-)
