The Ultimate Quiche Lorraine with a Hash brown crust!

Wow! This was the most delicious recipe I have made - the children absolutely devoured it for supper and lunch the following day :-) I added leeks to mine, so have amended the recipe slightly.
I will post the recipe here:

Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, grated
3 tablespoons butter, melted
6 strips bacon
1 small shallot, chopped
4 baby leeks, sliced in rounds
1 cup grated Grana Padano cheese
250 ml fresh cream
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1/4 salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Pinch nutmeg

Method:
Preheat oven to 220 degrees celcius.
Grease a quiche/tart dish with butter.
Press grated potatoes firmly into the dish. Pour melted butter over them evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned. Reduce oven to 180 degrees.
In a large frying pan cook bacon and leeks and shallot.
Allow to cool.
Scatter over the potato base.
Combine cream, milk, eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg and whisk for a minute.
Pour over the crust.
Bake for 25 minutes or until it jiggles and a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Serve hot or at room temp.
I served mine with a crisp salad.
